Spiced Apple and Millet Porridge

Spice Apple and Millet porridge! I found Millet grains (a gluten free cereal/grain. They are small, yellow and hard. The little blighters look a wee bit like a corn meal) at my local Bulk Barn. So I bought a bag and made some porridge. To make: in slow cooker or large casserole dish put: milk, water, coconut cream, millet grains, 4 apples grated, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, wee bit of sweetener (optional - I used 2 tbsp brown sugar for 10 serves) and a pinch of salt. Mix. Cook on a low heat for about 2 hours or until grains soft and no liquid left. Stir occasionally . Add more milk if needed. Amounts? 1 cup liquid (I used milk) to 1/2 cup millet. Keeps in the fridge for about a week. I made a large batch using 2 cups of millet which made breakfast for 4 days for our family of 5. Cost to make: 55 cents per serve.
